A Dindi Community Business Leader (CBL) is a business leader from within the Murrindindi Shire community that is experienced in owning or operating a business and is willing to give up a small amount of their time to help other businesses to develop or update their business continuity plan. Why you may ask? CBLs care about their fellow business community and the broader community they live in.

Ideally, we are seeking CBLs with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in owning or operating a business, including putting together business plans.

We are primarily seeking CBLs from within Murrindindi Shire that have local knowledge. This is preferred, but not essential.

To provide the business with information around how to develop a continuity plan, including answering questions and providing detail around the type of information to include in the plan. It is not your job to write the plan for the business.

An experienced mentor will be offering refresher training on business continuity planning for interested CBLs. A resource list will also be available for CBLs to refer to and provide to businesses when relevant.

This is a volunteer program and for this reason you can dedicate the amount of time you would like. A minimum of one-hour per month is recommended. Your time as a volunteer is valuable, if the time you are spending is making a difference - it makes it all worthwhile. If you find you are repeating information, answering unrelated questions or that time is not being prioritised, this may be a sign that you have contributed as much as you can. You may consider ceasing your involvement, or referring the business to an alternative support service, e.g. a Business Partnerships Officer at Council.
