What's next for the Flowerdale Community Plan projects?

Community members voted for the top projects and priorities for Flowerdale at the Flowerdale Community Planning Dinner on 10 May 2024. 'Action Teams' were formed for eight priority projects to work out how to bring these projects to life!

Action Teams are now starting to work on their projects. If you haven't joined an Action Team yet, contact us to find out more.

The eight priority projects are (in no particular order):

  • Football goal posts at the cricket ground
  • Strengthen and support the existing 'Clean Up Australia' activities
  • Food for Flowerdale
  • Revive the annual community day that was previously held on Australia Day
  • More art and arts-related activities around Flowerdale
  • More sport and social events at the Recreation Reserve
  • BMX track working group
  • Form an advocacy group to lobby for hard rubbish collection

The Flowerdale Community Planning Program is being organised collaboratively with a Core Team of Flowerdale community members. New members are always welcome to join the Core Team, so please get in touch if you'd like to join. Right now, the Core Team are creating a draft Community Plan which will be shared here for feedback as soon as it is ready.

Community Planning has been an exciting opportunity for the people of Flowerdale to come together to identify local strengths and priorities, and develop solutions that will help Flowerdale flourish.

Flowerdale community members had already contributed lots of great ideas during the community-led Kinglake Ranges Flowerdale Talks program that took place in 2022. Community Planning has built on these ideas, adding a whole lot more ideas and prioritising what is most important.
