How did we get here?

Community Planning priorities identified for Glenburn's future!

Community Planning launched in Glenburn with a very successful community dinner at the Glenburn Hall on Saturday 11 February 2023. Around 70 people came to enjoy being together, share what we love about Glenburn and talk about what we'd like our area to look like in the future.

After a number of additional gatherings and conversations to further explore these ideas, we held our final Glenburn Community Planning Dinner on Saturday 25 March 2023, again at the Glenburn Hall. Around 80 people came along to vote for what ideas would make the most difference for Glenburn right now.

'Action Teams' were formed for six priority projects to work out how to bring these projects to life! Action Teams are now starting to work on their projects. If you haven't joined an Action Team yet, contact us to find out more.

The six priority projects are (in no particular order):

  • Social events to help people connect with their neighbours
  • A local paper to assist with community communication
  • A market or fete for Glenburn
  • Community-run transport to Yea or Yarra Glen
  • Reviving the CFA breakfast and strengthening the Emergency Response Network
  • Advocating to RRV for increased road safety in Glenburn including to reduce speed limit

This program is being planned with the Glenburn Team - a group of community members who are meeting regularly to guide community planning. Right now, the Team are creating a draft Community Plan which will be shared with you here as soon as it is available. New members are always welcome to join the Glenburn Team so please get in touch if you'd like to know more.
