National Volunteer Week is a chance for all of us to celebrate and recognise the vital work of volunteers and to say thank you

How to get involved

  • Meet some of our wonderful volunteers and learn about the important work they do.
  • If you are interested in becoming a volunteer we've put together a list of community groups and organisations that have told us they are looking to recruit more volunteers.
  • If you know someone who volunteers and would like to give them a FREE calico bag to say ‘thank you’ drop into one of our Library and Customer Service Centres during May.
  • You are invited to show your appreciation for local volunteers by giving them a ‘pat on the back’ and leaving a personalised 'thank you' message. You can add their name, share a story, image or video and post it to our ‘Thank you wall’ below.

National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering and is held on 16 – 22 May 2022. Volunteering brings people together; it builds communities and creates a better society for everyone. This year’s theme is Together, through volunteering, we are changing communities for the better. We are, Better Together.
