Tell us a little about where you volunteer?

Pathway for Carers. Carers meet once per month, for a gentle walk in our local parks, followed by a free morning in a local cafe to share knowledge and make new friends with a guest walker of interest and speaker each month. To learn about supports in our community.


How did you get into volunteering?

From being a carer myself, understood the necessary need in our community.
Carers can be very isolated and lonely from being in their caring role 24/7.


What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

  • Helping carers connect and have a good laugh.
  • One carer said the group saved her life.
  • Also give you a great sense of worth and gratification.


Is there anything you find challenging about volunteering?

Getting the information out to the community about the group.


What would you tell someone who is thinking about volunteering?

Do it great chance to meet new people and genuinely help others.
