Tell us a little about where you volunteer?

I’ve volunteered as President at Kinglake Football Netball Club, it's the local sporting club in Kinglake.

How did you get into volunteering?

I came up to Kinglake to play and coach netball, I then volunteered to help the committee out with some tasks throughout the season as I was coaching and playing. I then ended up as a committee member for a couple years and decided the club was going in a good direction and I could help it develop and continue to support the community, so I put my hand up and volunteered as this year's president.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

The joy it brings me when you solve a problem or help something come into fruition.

Is there anything you find challenging about volunteering?

Having to do a full time job and juggle a full time volunteer job, you hardly get any sleep but rewards are worth it.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about volunteering?

If you’re thinking about it, just do it! You help out your community and enjoy the benefits too. It's extremely fulfilling and rewarding knowing you helped by just volunteering a small amount of your time and the organisation you volunteer for is extremely grateful.

Do you have a final comment?

In my personal volunteering roles with the Kinglake Football Netball Club it's so rewarding helping the club to ensure players get to play and the community can come together as one and enjoy watching the football and netball as one
