Tell us a little about where you volunteer?

I volunteer at Kellock Lodge & Darlingford Nursing Home and done so for over 20years , entertaining on the piano.

How did you get into volunteering?

I was asked by CEO to provide entertainment for residents, leading singalong, and easy listening music on the piano.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

How music brings such joy to the residents. How the residents memory floods back remembering words of songs of yesteryear, and the smile on their faces.

Is there anything you find challenging about volunteering?

Volunteering is not challenging, I find it therapeutic for myself. Knowing you are helping dementia residents relax (as music memory is undamaged by the disease) is rewarding.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about volunteering?

If you have a musical talent, please consider volunteering and enjoy the rewarding pleasure you are giving to others.
