Tell us a little about where you volunteer?

Alexandra Community Hub is your local friendly neighbourhood house. We also offer some educational courses. We are also a Centrelink agent.

How did you get into volunteering?

My husband and I were members of our local CFA. Following the 2009 bushfires "Berry Street" assisted us with some issues, as a result I offered to volunteer for them. Following the closure of their Alexandra office. CEACA contacted me to assist them with some volunteer work.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

Allows me to get of my 'comfort zone' meeting and assisting people less fortunate than myself.

Is there anything you find challenging about volunteering?

Definitely not as life is a challenge in itself.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about volunteering?

'Go for it' you will find it very rewarding.
