Tell us a little about where you volunteer?

1st Alexandra Scouts - As a scout leader of scouts aged between 11 & 14 yrs.
We meet regularly with the aim of providing kids with situations for them to have fun, learn new skills, make friends, build confidence, and become valuable members of the community.

How did you get into volunteering?

I always have, my parents did, it is what you do

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

Knowing that you might make a difference in the lives of these kids. Seeing the changes as they grow and having the opportunity to be part of that.

Is there anything you find challenging about volunteering?

Having enough time to run the programs how I would like.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about volunteering?

Just do it. You don't need special skills, just your time and enthusiasm. You only need to be willing to have a go and you can learn the rest along the way. The rewards outweigh the efforts too. Friendships, new skills, fun, satisfaction, it's good for the soul and your mental health!
