The LEAPing into Resilience Project aims to build the resilience of local communities to the impacts of emergencies through the development of a Local Emergency Action Plan (LEAP).

This project is a joint initiative between Murrindindi, Mansfield and Strathbogie Shire Councils. The LEAP Project Officer will work with five communities in each municipality.

A LEAP aims to:

  • understand the local emergency context and the potential impacts on our community
  • identify community skills and resources to help prepare and recover from emergency events
  • explore opportunities for skill building and provide important information and resources

We know that each community is different, and that each has its own skills, strengths and needs.Resiliency is about developing and supporting community connections that strengthen a community’s ability to recover from emergency events.Connected communities are resilient communities.
