The Murrindindi Beanie & Fibre Festival is a Not For Profit community arts event designed for people of all ages and abilities. Held once a year on the 4th weekend in May and set among the rolling green hills of Alexandra. Some have even grown up with the fun of funky beanies as the town of Alexandra comes alive with all things Beanie.

There are plenty of beanies, winter warmers & fibre arts for sale. The Beanie Fest, as it has become known, is widely regarded and provides lots of fun for those who enter or simply come to soak up the atmosphere while making a fabulous purchase.

The MBFF relies on the donations of beanies and winter warming items to make this event happen and without the support of many fantastic creative people both near and far the MBFF would not be able to got ahead.

Money raised goes towards local projects & charities within the Shire of Murrindindi, including yearly support of Alexandra Rotary providing wood for the elderly & disadvantaged within the Community.

What opportunities are there?

There are many ways that you, your school or community group can join in the fun of this fabulous, fibre arts festival & market.

Open to anyone to participate, you can support our community by creating a beanie, some winter warmers or fibre art & donating to our fabulous fibre festival. Entry is free.

The MBFF Committee welcome new ideas to help the event to grow and to make this happen we invite you to join our lovely committee to have your say. Should you wish to volunteer for the event itself, every year the MBFF Committee look forward to our volunteers to help over the course of the Beanie Festival weekend.

Perhaps you are a student studying digital imaging and would like to volunteer your help to design our beautiful brochures and posters. With the final product becoming part of your portfolio and providing you with real experience for the future.

We may even appeal to art students. We are open to all ideas. The Murrindindi Beanie & Fibre Festival is a community event by the community, for the community.
